Girls Varsity Swimming · Davison Girls Swimmers Stay Strong and Continue to Break Records at Quad Meet


On Saturday, October 3rd, the Lady Cardinal Swim & Dive Team hosted their first ever mid-season Quad Meet, at Kearsley High School. The meet included teams from White Lake, Fenton & Flint. This event was live-streamed by DTV News and should be able to be watched on the DTV You Tube Channel. An impressive showing for Davison girls, placing 2nd overall, Finishing just behind Powers Catholic Chargers.
The meet started off with the 200 Medley Relay consisting of Grace Dorman, Emmersyn Erway, Maddy Flynn & Lauren Auger taking 2nd place and breaking the Davison High School record for that race. Grace Dorman had a 5th place finish in the 200 Freestyle. Maddy Flynn took 2nd (school record) and Emmersyn Erway took 3rd in the 200 IM – With both girls earning their first MISCA Cut of the season. Lauren Auger and Sydney Dyer placed 3rd and 4th respectively in the 50 Freestyle. Davison Divers Mirriam Griffin (125.05 points) & Lexi Collick (99.6 points), placing them at 7th and 8th. 100 Butterfly race had Maddy Flynn 4th, Grace Dorman 8th, and Sydney Schneider in 11th place. Emmersyn Erway took 1st place overall in 100 Freestyle, Sydney Dyer 6th & Sydney Webster 11th. Swimming the 500 freestyle, Lauren Auger came away in 4th place, Vivian Griffin 9th, and Laina Owen in 10th. Next was the 200 Freestyle Relay. The Cardinals 3rd place relay team consisted of Sydney Dyer, Sydney Webster, Maddy Haldy & Vivian Griffin. Grace Dorman took home a 4th place finish in the 100 backstroke. Looking strong in 100 breaststroke, Lily Smith took 3rd followed by Maddie Haldy 4th & Grace Thomas 7th. The meet concluded with the 400 Freestyle Relay. Led off by Maddy Flynn, followed by Lauren Auger & Grace Dorman, then anchored by Emmersyn Erway – the girls brought home a 1st place finish, along with a new Varsity record for that race. There were lots of exciting close races, and many personal best times from all the swimmers on the team at this meet. Coach Jennifer Redumski-Heyworth is very pleased at how well this season is going and can’t wait to see how much more these girls improve. Currently, Davison Girls Swim & Dive has a 2-0 record and will be swimming at home this Thursday, against Bay City Western.
